      At any time of the day or night, if there is a sudden life threatening emergency
 
      you need to call an emergency ambulance by phoning 999. Examples include:
 
Self help  
                                 
 
        Sudden collapse and loss of consciousness.
 
Appointments  
        Severe chest pain lasting more than 5-10 minutes.
 
        Severe breathing difficulties.
 
Prescriptions  
        A fit or convulsion in someone not known to be epileptic.
 
        Prolonged or repetitive fitting in an epileptic.

      Problems relating to accidents of whatever sort are dealt with by Accident and

      Emergency departments. This can include anything from broken bones to
 
      accidental poisoning, cuts and bruises or electrocution. If you cannot get to
